December 12 to 14, 2017 – Indaiatuba, São Paulo, Brazil
The ProHuma Institute of Scientific Studies met in December with members of the Agricultural Handler Exposure Task Force (AHETF) – the task force of the American AHED database for occupational exposure studies. The meeting was attended by representatives of the ProHuma administrative and technical committees, as well as the group of Brazilian consultants providing scientific technical support to ProHuma – experts in technologies and equipment used for pesticide application in Brazilian agricultural settings.
The goal of this meeting was to present how the occupational exposure studies in agricultural settings were developed by the AHETF task force, which makes up the international generic databases, and to exchange scientific and technical information regarding both the generic agricultural scenarios and the Brazilian agricultural scenarios. This information exchange aims to assist in the development of a database representing Brazilian agricultural worker exposure scenarios to pesticides, to support the assessment of occupational risk.
