ProHuma once again participated jointly with ANVISA in the Joint Annual Meeting of the International Society for Exposure Science (ISES), to present an update on the development of a Brazilian database of occupational, resident, and bystander exposure, as well as tools to support the implementation of the Risk Assessment of Non-Dietary Exposure to Pesticide. The conference was held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, from August 17 to 20, 2025.

This year’s conference was distinctive, uniting the International Societies for Exposure Science (ISES) and Environmental Epidemiology (ISEES) under the overall theme “Global Equity in Environmental Health across the Lifespan.

It was a pleasure to meet with such a distinguished group of researchers and professionals from diverse disciplines and enrich our knowledge and experience of advances in our respective fields through access to innovative research and meaningful discussions. ProHuma presented a scientific poster of the recent publication on Dermal Absorption – “Interpretable machine learning unveils key predictors and default values in an expanded database of human in vitro dermal absorption studies with pesticides” – https://doi.org/10.1016/j.yrtph.2025.105801. In technical partnership with the Toxicology Department of Anvisa (GGTOX/ANVISA), within the Technical Cooperation Agreement (ProHuma – GGTOX/ANVISA), we presented a poster on Brazil’s progress in implementing an exposure risk assessment more representative of the Brazilian reality and regulations that improve human health safety and result in overall benefits for society.
